Nomination Guidelines

All nominees must be headquartered or substantially based in the Shenandoah Valley Region.

Membership in the SVTC NOT required for nominee or nominator. | Scroll this page to see some notes, print the guidelines, and find a link to past narratives. Short explanations for each award are at the end of the page.

**Notes**

  • Preparing a nomination in coordination with the nominee does not take long, but goes a long way in providing good narratives for the judges. Nominators are strongly encouraged to communicate with the individual(s) or organization(s) being nominated prior to submission so that the nominee/organization is fully aware of the content and can contribute. The nominee should expect to be contacted by the SVTC after the nomination has been accepted for verification of facts and work-up of a short bio for the program.Take a look at the narratives from 2016 as an example of how you can phrase things, if you'd like.
  • The SVTC would appreciate only one submission PER company, individual or effort so that each company, individual or effort is only nominated for one of the award categories each year (not in multiple categories).
  • A previous winner is eligible for re-nomination if the company/team/group or individual’s venture has *substantially* been updated or improved since winning previously.
  • Nominees should expect to attend the event so that we can honor them publicly.
  • Review all notes and guidelines, and easily print the complete TN 2017 guidelines (pdf)
